Greetings

Hello, everyone reading the blog.

This is Yokoyama, the owner of KOTOPOTTER.

Even though I call myself the owner, since it’s a one-person operation, it still feels a bit strange to say it...💦.

Now, about KOTOPOTTER, the online shop for Kyo-ware and Kiyomizu-ware that opened in August 2024, the core purpose is to help promote these traditional crafts.

It's often said that not just Kyo-ware and Kiyomizu-ware, but traditional crafts in general have been gradually declining over the years.

Although I haven't fully felt it myself after being involved for 10 years, it's clear that in the long term, the trend is downward.

I'm not trying to complain, but I do think that information about Kyo-ware and Kiyomizu-ware is somewhat limited, closed-off, and hard to understand.

That's why one of my goals is to make information more accessible by sharing it openly on the internet.

In KOTOPOTTER’s "World of Kyo-ware and Kiyomizu-ware," I will be sharing insights about Kyoto’s pottery scene.

I'll introduce recommended products and how to use Kyo-ware and Kiyomizu-ware in daily life.

Through the owner's diary, I hope to share my personal perspective on Kyo-ware and Kiyomizu-ware, as well as behind-the-scenes insights into KOTOPOTTER’s operations.
