Syunzan Kiln's series of small lidded items depicting the twelve zodiac animals inherits the tradition of Kyo-ware and Kiyomizu-ware pottery from Kyoto's prestigious kilns.

The warm ivory color is a traditional hue known as Kōrai (高麗), often associated with refined aesthetics.

Created using clay and glazes carefully selected by Taizan Hirano, the kiln master of the Taihei Kiln, this piece exudes an ivory-like luxury.
