Eiho Kato : Veteran Potter Representing the Pottery Village

Master Pottery Crafted by a Skilled Artisan

Shining with Artistry

At his workshop in Sumiya, Uji City, Eihou Kato dedicates himself to pottery, drawing on 50 years of experience.

Born in 1956, he grew up in a long-standing pottery family in Higashiyama, Kyoto, and naturally followed the path of ceramics.

He honed his skills at the Kyoto Municipal Industrial Research Institute and improved his craft while fulfilling custom orders.

(Eihou's pace of production is remarkably fast, with finished pieces being created one after another.)

Eihou's work showcases a variety of techniques, from ceramics to porcelain, evolving with the needs of the times.

His creations blend functionality for daily use with the charm of timeless tradition, providing a warm feeling every time they are held.

His quick, precise finishing techniques and delicate designs stand out.
