Collection: Mizuki Yoshida

Yoshida Mizuki is a ceramic artist with a studio in Higashiyama, Kyoto. She continues to create the beloved Shoki figures of Kyoto.

Shoki originated from Chinese Taoism and has long been worshipped in Japan as a deity that wards off evil.

Yoshida Mizuki's Shoki statue is carefully crafted down to the smallest detail, using techniques such as molding and hand forming.

The statue retains the dignified appearance of Shoki with his long beard, official garb, and sword in hand, but its appeal lies in the texture that allows you to feel the softness and warmth that only pottery can provide.
