Collection: Nagata Studio

The pottery of Nagata Takao (pen name: Gassan), who has his studio in Kyotanba, a rural mountain area of Kyoto Prefecture, is a masterpiece of Kyoto ware that highlights his craftsmanship and over 50 years of experience.

The unique form, created using the embossing technique that gives it the warmth of a handmade item, and the delicate indigo blue color of the blue and white porcelain, made using the Kyoto Yuzen techniques of his wife, are distinctive features of the piece, and it is a harmonious combination of the transparency of the white porcelain and the texture of the rustic pottery.

As traditional Kyoto pottery, these vessels are simple yet have a dignified presence and are suitable for a wide range of occasions, from everyday use to special occasions.

It combines the elegance and ease of use of Kyoto ware and Kiyomizu ware, giving a sense of comfort to anyone who holds it in their hands.

The pottery that the Nagatas make to brighten our daily lives is imbued with the rich nature of Kyotanba and their passion for pottery.
